Tablescape Thursday...with apologies to Robbie Burns

I couldn't find a poem to match my tablescape, so I wrote one...:)

Photobucket

Your love is like a red, red tulip,
I found at Michael's, really cheap.. ( 9 cents)
I sorely wanted live ones,
But the price was way too steep!

Photobucket

The plates and bowls from Horchow
By way of TJMAXX,
The swirly candles so pretty..
Of course they're made of wax!

Photobucket

The inspiration from the placemat,
From Pier One and made of felt..
On sale for a dollar fifty,
That's not a lot of gelt!

Photobucket

Those pretty heart shape dishes
A bread plate with no dents..
I think I bought a boat load
Each was 40 cents..

Photobucket

Lions head bowl with the tulips.
Is a covered soup tureen ..
It is made in France by Apilco,
At a price that was supreme! ($13)

Photobucket

Wine stems are from Pfaltzgraff
Flutes by Luminarc..
Napkin rings from Dollar Tree
Where it's always hard to park. :)

Photobucket

Deep red cloth is underneath,
Snowy white on top,
I think I am about finished,
You're begging me to stop! :)

Please join Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for the other entries...Thank you , Susan...

Don't forget Laurie's party on the 11th..I hope I find my ♥ bin by then!

See you for Foodie Friday..thanks for visiting..

Heehe Kathleen,
Let me be the first to comment. Your comments left me laughing! Hubby will have to eat on a tv tray until Sat. Ha! I worked too hard to tear it apart and start over. Your table is gorgeous, I have to say we do have very similar tastes! Probably why I always love your tables! hehe. I am jealous of those red goblets, I have been looking for some, but all I find are gothic looking ones! Have a great week my friend, Cindy

Your table is beautiful! Love the way you layered the napkins! I also love the red stemware. I have been keeping my eye for some, but have not lucked upon any yet. Now what are you serving on this lovely table?

Ok, I almost missed the Ground Hog and I am so glad I didn't. That just had me rolling on the floor. So cute. I needed a good laugh, and this definitely filled the bill. My DH got a squeal out of it too.

Now for the Valentine's Tablescape. I just love it all. Everything is just beautiful. I love the placemats, cute, cute, cute. Your poem is just perfect. That is a talent I certainly don't have, but I loved yours.

Both of these posts are just the best. Thanks a bunch. Hugs, Marty

You are my favorite poet :) What a gorgeous table but I was anxiously scrolling to read your prose I had to go back and look at the photos a second time. I love the placemats and all the beautiful reds. Those plates are still my favorites of yours along with the lavender ones from Marigene.

Can't wait to see more valentine inspiration from you in the week ahead!

Oh my, Kathleen, I have to say
Your table is a joy.
It's all decked out as fancy as
Little Lord Fauntleroy.

My favs will always be the plates,
Cause they're so sharp, I reckon.
Still, I'd say that the tablecloth
Comes in a very close second.

But the thing that really Burns me,
(Yes, the pun's intended.)
Is the steal on the soup tureen.
That price was really splendid.

Very festive. The plaid dishes are beautiful. The best part is you can use them for Christmas too. Love the bargains.

Your valentine table is gorgeous! Just how I like valentine tables to look!
To answer your question. Clowns are ok as long as they are not right in my face. But my mothers said as a child...I hated them!

What a fun post! Love your poetry and your tablescape! If you haven't found your V'tine decor, I don't think you need to keep looking. You've got it all here on tablescapes. (Love your header with the polka dot runners). Those little heart butter dishes are so cute, and I do love this china. If my china pantry wasn't overflowing, I'd be looking for some of that china. Actually, I may look for some and store it under the bed. laurie

Oh, I love your creative spirit. Great job! You set a beautiful table and were most clever in presenting it all. I have a set of the red checked dishes, but I'm looking for some red polka dot dishes like you show in your header. Who makes those?
It was such fun to visit your blog, Kathleen. Thanks for sharing!

Every thing is just adorable. I especially like the poem. Don't worry about apologizing to Robert Burns...I'm related to him on my Dad's side!

Hi!
To answer your question - my pastel striped napkins aren't round, they are large 12" square, folded once, then fold like a fan (the bottom folded again and stuck down into the nut cups!)

Thanks for your comment!
