I have to do strange things to get on the net...Time will tell..
I am still having a lot of problems and waiting for DELL to call me back...and waiting...and waiting..
My son met Lidia Bastianich the other night at her restaurant. A signed cookbook???...no..a little cell phone pic for his old mom???, no..
It was a Business meeting and he didn't feel it would be appropriate..He's right..but I would have loved to have an autographed cookbook from her, with a little Bolegnese on the side..:) He said the food was very good.
Tonight I am sharing meatloaf stuffed with mozzarella, onions and spinach..good, but as DH says, "It is still meatloaf." I like meatloaf..he doesn't...
So I made some beer battered onion rings to perk it up, some wild rice and a little sauce on the side..
Saturday was my little gson's 6th birthday..so some cupcakes..vanilla with whipped cream and sprinkles was his request..
I use a product called WHIP IT as a stabilizer for the fresh whipped cream...It is made by Oetker..( no, they didn't ask me to say that..:) )
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend..supposed to be very cold and windy here..
Thanks for visiting..

The gremlins are at it again! I installed Norton 2010, and now everything is a restricted site and infected with a virus. Even Photobucket…!! I have no idea what to do, it says my email is infected and I can’t open it.
Pop ups keep saying I have a Spyware Worm Windows.32..I mean that sounds terminal.. Norton keeps popping up saying it has blocked a Trojan..Holy cwap, I am under attack!!
I am going to leave 2 aspirins on this Dell, and hope it cures itself by morning…it has been shut down a dozen times..
I have a few bargains to show you…more than 3 so I am joining Tam at The Gypsy’s Corner …
And since they are for a tabletop I am joining Tabletop Tuesday over at Barb’s Grits and Glamour..Thanks for hosting ladies!
First I found these pretty embossed white platters by Gibson..
They were $2.50
How about all the colors in these?? Fiesta time table?? Also by Gibson..
Bowls, and plates..FIFTY cents! Red, yellow, orange, green, blue…
I could get a month of Tablescape Thursdays just by changing the linens and accessories..:) I found these at the supermarket..
Finally, another visit to WSonoma Outlet led me to these…
But you know me..no way..to let people wipe their mouths on?? .99 cents!
I had been looking at the pink ones for weeks..I didn’t like them..then The Tablescaper did a table with them, and it looked very pretty…so I gave in…
I am thinking the pale yellow trimmed napkins with a yellow plate? What do you think??
Dinner?? Perfect for a January night..
Pot Roast, Mashed potatoes and Red Cabbage with apples..and a Greek salad…
Thanks for visiting..wish me luck with my computer ailments..:)
I have been trying to visit your blogs, but RESTRICTED SITE keeps popping up on many of them. I am trying to figure it out..:(

I bought this wicker top hat , and wanted to use it as a centerpiece..
I had hoped for fresh flowers, but Mr. Cuisine, ( that cracks me up ..he no way wants to be Mr. Cuisine..he has never even looked at this blog!) came back from Sams Club, an hour away with a report that they didn't have what I wanted..:(.
So I had some faux, and took apart an old silver twig and silver berry wreath I was going to ditch anyway!..I replaced his plaid hat band with a silver one. It will have to do..
Placed a dollar store snowflake underneath
Black tablecloth and napkins…napkins are Lenox..tied with a silver snowflake ribbon..
Silver charger, white plate trimmed with silver..Lovelace pattern ( same as the one in the header)
Star mirrors, W.Sonoma.
Silver trimmed stems, wedding crystal.
Please join Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Thank you Susan,!
Dinner was Chicken cutlet stuffed with spinach and mozzarella…
Pound out your cutlet..
Roll it up, dip in egg wash then crumbs…brown in a pan with some oil..
Remember Laurie’s ♥ Party, and Marty’s cloche party is the 19th!!..
Thanks for visiting!

Six months from now, we will have forgotten all about winter, the cold and the snow. In fact we may be complaining about the heat!
But today, with several more cold months ahead…I am fast forwarding…
It doesn’t go with the theme of the party..but it makes me smile..:)
So in 6 months we can…
Eat out on the deck….and have a Garden Party…
Smell the flowers..
Have an ice cream soda…
Things to look forward to…
Thanks for visiting!

This has been a Merchandise week. Wednesday I met 2 of my friends who are still teaching for dinner. We decided to meet near The Christmas Tree Shop, how convenient! By the time they got there after work, I had found quite a few goodies…
It was so good to see them and have a nice leisurely dinner with them..(Hi Sue!) I don’t like the long drive home alone, but I hadn’t seen them in over a year..and it was time!
I won’t show you everything..just a few things…
I might wear that to Laurie’s Party..It will be here before you know it!
Isn’t that heart shaped ramekin cute??
And the other things are for the BIG holiday coming up in March.
I love that dark green glass cake stand. Perfect for some Shamrock cookies, or Leprechaun cakes..
Saturday, I had a Blogger encounter of the shopping kind with The Tablescaper. She is definitely a BAD influence. We had lunch first, then talked about all of our favorite blogs.. Were your ears ringing? You KNOW we mentioned you!
We hit Pier One, TJMAXX, and a Thrift Shop among other places..
I paid a dollar for each on the right, and 2 dollars for the spooner. I didn’t know what is was, TT told me. I thought it would be sweet with some flowers..
I also got 2 Pinhiero white plates for $1..You can see it here..
I am joining Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday. Please stop by and see the other mosaics..Thank you , Mary!
Have a great week everyone!

My friend Cathy at Wives with Knives posted her mother’s recipe for stollen before Christmas. Mike has made them in the past, so I told him I had a new recipe for him to try.
He didn’t get to it before Christmas. but it is perfect anytime with your morning coffee.
I am joining Gollum for Foodie Friday at Designs by Gollum….
I forgot to take a picture of it before we cut into it, but you get the idea..
It was delicious! You can read all about it, and find the recipe here…
Thank you, Cathy for sharing your dear mother’s recipe..
I am also linking this to Saturday Blog Showcase, where you show what you made from a recipe you found on a blog..
The details are here ..All that Splatters…
And since it is still Thursday in the real world…a Flashback to a dinner party I did for Mr. Frosty…
The only negative was the puddle he left under his chair..:)
The plates were bought at CVS after Cmas last year for 90% off. Perfect kids table.
If this weather stays the way it is, another snowman table may be on the horizon…
There are 87 other tables to see over at Susan’s Between Naps on the Porch…..take a look..

Are you tired of the same old tablecloths…do you yearn for some colorful napkins? :)
Yes? Well, then make them..
I found these remnants at a designers fabric warehouse…they let me, the non designer, in..they let anyone with CASH in.. I spent FIVE whole dollars!!! It is good double sided cotton from Portugal…
Each piece was a DOLLAR, and are big enough for the round table in my breakfast nook/kitchen area table.
There was an extra piece with the lime green plaid, so he threw that in..thank you! I was able to get 7 regular napkins and a runt from it…
So my metamorphosis from remnant to….
I sewed a line then fringed them, but really I don‘t think it is much faster than doing a hem..and then you have threads all over the place.:(
I may have to rethink the fringe idea!
I hope to use each one in a future tablescape..
Please stop by Susan’s At Between Naps On The Porch for Metamorphosis Monday..
The Recipe..Rigatoni Pie…from Martha Stewart
You can find the recipe here…
Make or use spaghetti sauce..Mike had made a pot of sauce and meatballs so I used homemade sauce..
I don’t think a can of crushed tomatoes would have good flavor…
I oiled my pan with olive oil...
Really stuff the meat, which I browned with finely chopped onions into each noodle…it makes them stand at attention..:)
I used a layer of ricotta/mozza mixture ..like you would make for lasagna or baked ziti..
Spread it over the meat…then the layer of mozzarella..
I know it sounds time consuming, but it wasn’t that bad…I would do this for an occasion..Like Super Bowl..or a family gathering..be sure to have extra sauce to serve with it.
I am going to try it again, I have another idea I want to try…but we will be eating this for a few more days!
And lastly, my Mosaic..Please join Mary at Little Red House to see more entries…She’s having a give away..go see!
Don’t forget Laurie’s Party…♥♥♥♥
Thank you for visiting and spending some of your time here..I appreciate it!
