This was a chair that was in my mom's home. How old, I don't know, but I remember her having it reupholstered every few years.
The cushion is down and I can remember as a child reminding people to puff the cushion when they got up, much to my mother's chagrin! Just repeating what she always told us! ;)
Last April, I decided I was going to have 2 of her chairs redone. Yes, I found a good place to have it done, but it took me months to find the fabric. I don't know what has happened to me, the woman who picked tile for 4 bathrooms in one afternoon! I can't seem to make decisions quickly.
Anyway, I finally found something for all the work to be done. I got all the fabric at Duralee.
Picked up on Sat., and returned the next. 4 chairs and a sofa. And the sofa was converted from a 2 cushion to 3, and a tight back from loose cushions.
Pretty good in a week!
I was informed it was called a FAN chair. It is in my living room.
Of the four pieces I had done, I like how this came out the best.
I think she would like it. :)
These are the 2 fabrics I picked for the den. But that is for another day!
And I know, it is more expensive to have furn reupholstered, but the quality is better than is what's out there. I looked! We didn't want leather, and I couldn't find anything of good quality unless I remortgaged the house! :)
I am joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday.
