My kitchen tree sits amongst the clutter of the marathon cooking and baking.
A little rolling pin given to me by my friend Ellen in 1994. Do you write the dates or names on ornies to remind you ?
I upgraded to a 3 ft prelit tree this year, as I had so many cute kitchen ornaments.
Here is a little baking mold amongst the copper pans and gingerbread.
My first ever attempt at a Yule Log. I am not French, have no French roots, so a Yule Log it is, with Irish roots! :)
I filled it with cream cheese icing and cherries. I can't cut it as it is for tomorrow, so I will try to get a shot of it when we eat it.
Some rugalach with a cup of coffee will help get me through the rest of the many things left to do. We don't celebrate till tomorrow, thank goodness. I have been cooking for days.
I am working on a table starring these...
I'll set a place for you , come back for dinner during this holiday week of celebrations!

Watching the gkids Christmas Concert always fills the heart with the spirit of the season. My Kdgn gson was so excited to be in his first concert!

I do know where every one of my Santas have come from but not the dates.
Sounds like you bake like I do. A whirlwind of activity and mess until it is all done. I don't put anything away until then because if I do I may not have the energy to pull it all out again.

There is so much to comment on in this post; where do I start?! First of all, your Irish yule log/buche de noel turned out beautifully. My MIL made one this year, too. She filled hers with peppermint ice cream. Secondly, I adore your kitchen Christmas tree...and those ornaments are sooo cute! Wherever did you get the little copper sauce pans and colander? They are the best!
Third, I love your dishes. Are they the Lenox "Neuveaux Plaid"? I'm coveting those, big time. :)
And last of all, I LOVE your nativity set! It looks like Belleek. It really is beautiful. Everything looks great and so festive. Hope your day turned out just like you wanted. BTW, your grands are precious -- loved the pictures of the pageant. Merry Christmas!

Hope you had a very Merry Christmas! I do write notes and the year on the ornaments, and so glad I do. Some of the ornaments given to me six years ago, seem like just yesterday ;-) The yule log is great, I did one three years ago. Love the kitchen tree!
I just love coming to your blog -- it is like coming home.
The kitchen tree is such an inspiration -- I am just starting with my collection of things for ours. This is the first time I have ever found a place for it.
Once my mother and I made a Yule Log when I was living in Dallas in a small single girl apartment. The filling called for was like seven minute frosting. I had limited storage, so we carefully wrapped up our masterpiece and put it in the storage room attached to the deck because the weather was pretty cold and we thought it would be OK overnight.
When we cut into it at Christmas dinner, the filling had all disappeared! It had just absorbed into the cake! I think creme cheese would be a much better option.

Awe, now I want a kitchen tree-that is just adorable!I miss the big Christmas celebrations too, now it is just my son and his small family with us. But I thank God I have someone to share the season with.

I do not know who the little girl in the first row second from left is, but she has the right attitude about Christmas. It brought a swift hot tear to my eye.
